Re: Vibrating Screen Condition Monitoring
Vas
Normally only stroke is checked (if anything on the screen) but you can check the temperature of bearings also. Some guys offer complete systems, including monitoring back to the base but most of the clients do not want it.
Modelling software-any FEA software will do though I personally use strand7 for screens and ansys or cosmos for components.

Screen Monitoring
WS Tyler has a finite element analysis software system they use to detect stroke or circle size and errant or erratic vibrations of inidividual body components.
I use field stroke check cards which easily identify unbalance circles or strokes for horizontal screens. You can go right to the problem spot by properly reading the stroke check cards.
stroke check can identify INTERFERANCE fits around the free floating bodies of screeners which would definitely effect TPH and shutdown erratic behaviour.
RPM checks or verification, identify motor sheave wear problems which CAN identify why we are not producing the TPH we expected from the screener when it was new.
VSMA has all of this good stuff in it and much much more that would be helpful.
ALL the software programs for checking various screen movement functions are great but, eventually we must make a decision to change coil springs, change operating RPM, change sheaves, clean around the machine or whatever TO correct the actual problem. ■
Vibrating Screen Condition Monitoring
I would appreciate feedback and experience regarding the following:
What sensors and monitors are being used for monitoring vibrating screens in the mineral processing plants
Are OEMs supplying vibration monitoring technologies with the screens?
Experience of using modeling software to identify stresses in a screen as a part of condition monitoring strategy?
