How to produce Coated Calcium Carbonate

Posted in: , on 13. Mar. 2006 - 11:50

Dear Sir,

We're looking the most economic way to produce coated calcium carbonate.

Currently we're using pendulum type grinding mill (similar to that Raymond Mill) to produce uncoated caco3 powder.

We'd like to use the same grinding mill to produce the coated caco3

The capacity should be 1-2 metric Ton/ hour

Please submit any offers or questions to kalsitechprima@yahoo.com

Thank You and Have a Nice Day!

Coated Calcium Carbonate

Do you mean stearate coating ?

If so, why not follow precipitation technique of Ca CO3 in the presence of sodium stearate ? A uniform thin coating of insoluble Ca stearate will be formed.

Sounds a good idea,

But where can we find the equipments?

Thanks

Coating Process

Basically this is a wet process to get small production quantities and require large tanks and water supply. Tanks can be fabricated at site or PVC tanks can be purchased. The process involves co-addition of calculated sodium carbonate/sodium stearate solutions to calcium chloride solution. Bubbling CO2 can also be done under controlled conditions.

the best way for producing fine calcium carbonate is to use ball mill with ultra-fine classifying system.

OME Malaysia has for mission the engineering of-the art ultra-fine classifying, grinding and coating of Calcium Carbonate.

We are dedicated to produce air classifiers,

Constant innovation on our classifiers has lead to sharper cuts, less maintenance and the ability to produce minerals of d98<8µm.

We can supply you with finest quality equipment at a good price we have experience in the field and had already installed many plants in Malaysia, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.

Please fill free to send your enquiries and we will be happy meet you and discuss your project.

There are at least five different systems how to coat fine ground calcium carbonate. The best solution is to use a Pin Mill with molten stearic acid for mixing intensively.

This system doesn't affect the quality of the coated material. Other process like coating inside ball mill or agitated ball mills always contaminate the final product and therefore have a bad impact on the final product quality.

Production Of Coated Calcium

Regards,

Pls how can I produce coated calcium effectively? Upon the introduction of stearic acid to CaCO3, it sticks to the walls of my ball mill.

Thank you.

do you add stearic acid to the ball mill ?!!

you must add a coating machine to your production line, don't add acid to ball mill inlet that well cause many problems to your ball mill
