Drive Nit For Pipe Conveyors

Posted on 15. Feb. 2006 - 12:04

Dear Mr Rao

There is no limitation on drive power on pipe conveyor. Location of Drive unit and nos of drives are considered in same way as for belt conveyors. you may provide single 200Kw single drive .

Multiple drives are provided on conveyors due to following reasons

1.0 To keep belt tension Low By provideing multiple drives

2.0 From Economical consideration point of view

For your conveyor in case you are able to go for lower belt rating with dual Drives you may go for 2 drives.

some times User does not wants to provide HT drive He may go to Lt drive by providing 2x 100 kw LT motor Instead of 200 kw HT motor

without doing proper Analyses i is difficult to select Nos of drives for any conveyor

Dear Sir

The limitation is only as with other belt drives i.e. the ability to generate the required belt tension with an available belt strength and also the practicality and cost of large single drives.

We have installed pipe conveyor with single drive, 1000mm wide belt 1200 meter long conveyor.

Dear Mr. Paul,

I think we do not think availability of belt for 700t/hr with 700 M long pipe conveyor when ST-2000 or more is available.

Regards.

Dear Mr Banerjee

If I understand your question correctly.

For 700 T/hr (at say 1 t/m3) 700m long pipe conveyor.

Diameter 350 mm dia pipe is OK.

With single head end drive unit EP1000 kg/cm fabric belt should be OK.

With dual head end drive EP800

and with head and tail end drives EP600.

Just to give the idea.

Of course the above depends on acrual material density, belt curves and attitude etc.
