I’m working in project of conveyor that transports:

Operation 1: 2.500 t/h in the carry side

Operation 2: 800 t/h in the return side

Operation 3: Both.

Effective Tension (Te): 60.003 N (operation 1)

Effective Tension (Te): -9.230 N (operation 2)

Effective Tension (Te): 44.676 N (operation 3)

Conveyor Data:

Velocity: 3,8 m/s

Width: 60”

Length: 182 m

Level: 23,5 m

Idler troughing angle: 45º

Material Density: 750 Kg/m3

I’d like to know which option is advisable?

1.1x 220 Kw + 1x 55 Kw – (operation 1)

2.1x 55Kw – (operation 2)

3.1x 220 Kw – (operation 3)

4.1x 260 Kw – (operation 1, 2, e 3)

I also agree with Larry

(But a simple single speed single drive is all you need)

Dear Mr. Emerson,

The information / opinion you are seeking is a serious design issue and it would be difficult for anybody to give specific opinion because such opinion can only be formulated after elaborate design and investigation has been done.

However, as a general guideline, you can see which arrangement of the drive will result into most economical installation as a total of mechanical, structural, electrical and instrumentation, when designed according to the rules for proper performance. The type of technically suitable drive arrangement will also depend upon the type of take-up you intend to use. The structural should include conveyor proper and also the transfer houses and the drive houses related to conveyor.

Dear Mr. Emerson

in my openion you consider providing single drive of 260 kw with vfd drive .

While tansporting only on return side you can run conveyor at 1.3 m/sec speed.

Dear Mr. Emerson,

Are you paid to design or to find solutions?

Hopefully, your need is the later. Then you need to ask the assistance of a professional that will give you proper guidance.

The forum is not an engineerring instrument, its supporters are not paid, and its answers must be considered in context. Like none of the above answers to your questions are appropriate. If one answer was most appropriate you would already know it.
