In case it is plant conveyor you can consider 1000 mm wide belt with 35 degree troughing angle speed 2.5 m/sec

When designing widths of conveyor belts I would recommend the following:
1. Ensure enough edge distance for sealing in the load zone. Allow for some tracking issues & belt camber issues.
2. Keep in mind that the conveyed material in the load zone is dynamic. Use conservative bulk densities as the material can contain large amouints of air untill it settles in the stilling area of the load zone.
3. As the trough angle increases, the effective belt width decreases. This is critical in the load zone so there is sufficient edge distance for sealing.
These are factors that should influence belt width selection along with tonnage if you want a clean conveyor belt. ■

A little late but you get the answer.
capacity = 800 t/h
coal lump = 100 mm
coal desnity = 850 kg/cm
approximate answer:
width = 914 mm @ 3.6 m/s belt speed
width = 900 mm @ 3.7 "
width = 800 mm @ 4.8 "
width = 750 mm @ 5.5 " ■

Could any body help me in the following query:
The rated capacity of the Belt conveyor that is carrying the crushed coal is 800 TPH. What would be the appropriate width of the conveyor Belt.
