Gammapilot M

The tougher things are, the more it measures up

Radiometric techniques are used in applications where other methods fail. In extreme conditions such as toxicity, abrasion, high temperatures, high pressures or baffles, Endress + Hauser’s Gammapilot M comes into its own.

Gammapilot M FMG60 compact transmitter offers all of the advantages of the tried and tested method combined with the latest technological innovations. Due to its compact design, Gammapilot M is ideal for a range of applications – from level limit detection and continuous level measurement through to interface layer and density measurement.

The variable transmitter concept with NaI crystal or plastic scintillators in different lengths guarantees optimum adaptation to requirements. Its two separate connection compartments and the robust stainless steel housing make it the perfect measurement instrument for harsh environments and demanding process conditions.

Gammapilot M FMG60 was developed in accordance with the international standard for functional safety IEC61508 and has SIL2 (Safety Integrity Level) approval for overspill protection, making it suitable for all safety-related processes. Not only does it offer automatic monitoring from the sensor to the power output but Gammapilot M also issues a warning when components have to be exchanged. This guarantees uninterrupted operation and plant availability.

Gammapilot M can be used with HART®, PROFIBUS PA and FF. Operation and commissioning is simple using Endress + Hauser’s free ToF Tool operating software or the separate FHX40 operating unit. For further assistance, ApplicatorTM software is available for the selection of components and the calculation of the required radioactive source activity as well as the control area for the respective application.

Endress+Hauser (E+H) is an international Swiss family enterprise and belongs to the top group of instrumentation and automation solution providers for industrial process engineering. Endress+Hauser is a world-wide network of legally independent firms, led and co-ordinated by a holding company in Reinach (Switzerland). Today the Group comprises 41 sales and service companies in 38 countries, 23 production units in 9 countries as well as 7 management companies. At the end of 2003 Endress+Hauser employed a staff of 6,000 which generated sales of 727.9 million EURO.

E+H offers sensors, instruments, systems and services for pressure, flow, level and temperature measurement as well as for liquid analysis and the registration of measured values. Samplers, system components and automation solutions also form part of the programme. Endress+Hauser customers use these products in plants throughout the chemical and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, water and waste water, paper, energy and well as oil and gas industries. Technical processes are thus managed ecologically and economically in an optimum fashion, natural resources are spared, energy saved and people, environment and plants protected.

Endress+Hauser products offer a high degree of reliability and availability, excellent quality as well as state-of-the-art technology at a fair price.

Endress+Hauser was founded by Georg H Endress and Ludwig Hauser in 1953. The group has been wholly owned by the Endress family since 1975. In 1995, Klaus Endress took over the leadership of the group as CEO from his father. During the 50 years since its foundation, the company has consistently developed from a specialist in level measurement to a provider of complete solutions for industrial instrumentation and automation. Apart from the extension of the programme by many product and service innovations new markets were constantly developed. Competent selling and service have been ensured in every country of the world.
