TECHINT TECHNOLOGIES continues its cooperation with CVRD - Companhia Vale do Rio Doce, the world largest mining group, in its expansion projects. Techint Business Unit Material Handling obtained recently a new contract for a “giant” Boom Stacker for the mine of Carajas (Patio-C). The contract was signed in August and has a total duration of 22 months
The turnkey project is part of CVRD plan to increase the productivity of the biggest iron-ore mine in the world, currently set at 80 Mt/year.
The new stacker will be able to stack iron ore at a nominal flow rate of 11,000 t/h and at a design capacity of 13,200 t/h.
The boom length of this machine is 46 m, supporting a 2,200 mm wide conveyor; it will be able to form a 44 m wide and 20 m high stockpile of iron ore.
A conveyor line of almost 1 km length, necessary to feed the Stacker, is an integral part of the contract recently signed with Techint.
Through this project TECHINT is strengthening its worldwide leadership as specialized supplier of material handling equipment and systems of large capacity.
