Volume reduction of edge stripes at the production of flat foils

Flat foils will be sized by the lateral cutting of both foil edges, which ensures a constant thickness of the whole foil breadth. The arising continuous stripes will be cut into short pieces by the new foil stripes cutter RC 180 of Hellweg Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG. The manufactured shreds then can be fed through pipes, even great lengths, to the waste removal or to a connected processing.

The foil stripes cutter RC 180 will directly be fixed at an exhausting pipe (picture), through which the edge stripes directly will be exhausted smooth by vacuum and fed through the open two-knifes-rotor. There they will be cut between rotor- and fixed knifes into short stripes. The gap is adjustable down to only 0,05 mm. As a result of this the RC 180 is especially suited for the cutting of very thin foils. It is possible to cut foil stripes with a breadth of up to approx. 200 mm. The machine works with a rotor speed of 700 r.p.m. and a driving power of 0.55 kW.
