CONTROL AUTOMATION in conjunction with their major shareholder KOCKUMS BULK SYSTEMS have developed an economical system for conveying of powders and injecting them into a liquid mixing tank below the surface of the water. The System is based on the Kockums “Microveyor”.
The Microveyor offers an economy conveying system built for small transfer rates, generally 1 to 4 ton per hour. The standard unit is epoxy painted mild steel, or stainless steel. It may be connected directly to a hopper or silo.
The standard model is the KM50. This unit will achieve 1200 to 2600 kg per hour rate, for a typical 10 to 50 metre run in a 50 mm NB line for a product of medium density. A special unit available for low conveying rates, the model KM 25 will deliver rates up to 400 kg/hr
Conveying Air Supply:
The Microveyor is designed to work from clean dry instrument quality air at 5 to 7 bar pressure. It may also be supplied to operate from one of our small pneumatic conveying compressors or blowers, if insufficient instrument quality air is available.
This system for direct injection into solution, has a number of advantages:
1. No powder cyclone/separator is required
2. Excellent powder dispersion is obtained as it is entrained with air as it enters the water.
3. Material can be conveyed up to 100 m, (10 to 40 m is most desirable.)
4. Conveying rates from 0.5 to 4000kg/hr
5. Metering may be done by mass, volume or timed pulse.
6. Air consumption is less than 700 litre per minute, when operating.
This system is ideally suited to convey and meter such products as alum, hydrated lime, activated carbon, soda ash, iron salts, silicates, sugar, etc where the product is to be dissolved, or made into a slurry.
