Re: Dense Phase Air Knife
There are several vendors who supply air knives for dense phase conveying systems. These air knives are supposed to reduce the length of the slugs to reduce system pressure drop. But, in my opinion, slug length is a natural phenomenon based on conveying line layout. In general, slug length increases as the slugs travel along a horizontal pipeline. Use of an air knife installed at the beginning of a conveying line will not reduce the slug length.

Thanks for the response but can you name the suppliers for me please.
My client has had the experience that this equipment works even though as you suggest it may be more to do with providing a little fluidising air at the correct spot than creating slugs of hydrated lime.
With thanks

Re: Dense Phase Air Knife
Please send me an email requesting this. It won't be proper for me to advertise vendor names on this Board. Hope you understand.

Dense Phase Air Knife
Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who supplies an "air knife" suitable for separating slugs of hydrated lime in an 80mm pipe?
With thanks
