Life of cement ball mill

Posted in: , on 15. Jun. 2004 - 14:54

Dear all

I would like to know the expected life of a new grinding mill (assuming that it is being maintained regularly).

Also how frequently should the lining, diaghram, and balls be replaced?

Hope to hear from you soon

Salam Sherif,

The life of the wear parts depends upon the clinker characterstics and the grade of the wear parts.

We have a mill..4.2m dia, 100tph that has done over 40,000hrs with only the first compartment disphragm liners being changed.

In the first compartment, U need to look at the lift of the liners.

For the diaphragm liners - U need to look at the slot gap and wear thickness.

Grinding media - balls - depends upon throughput capacity.

Suggest that U talk to Magotteaux for more details

Thanks

James

Dear Mr. Hudson

Thank you for your interest.

The reason I posted this message was because we were working on a feasibility study and we needed to include the cost of replacing parts and their expected life.

Unfortuantley at the moment the project is on hold.

best regards
