LIGHT BULK SOLID LIMIT DETECTION IS POSSIBLE WITH MINICAP FTC 260

Sandton, February 25, 2004 - Instrumentation specialist, Endress + Hauser, has released a compact capacitive limit switch that offers more performance than a paddle switch, but just the same cost. The new Minicap FTC 260 limit switch is designed for applications in light bulk solids, such as animal fodder, grain products, flour, milk powder and plaster, as well as in dust explosive areas.

Minicap FTC 260, with 140 mm rod probe and electronic insert, is based on the “plug-and-play” principle with simple installation and no calibration. Minicap has both active build-up compensation and an extremely rugged construction – no wearing parts, long operating life and no maintenance. Its compact design, universal application and price make it suitable for turnkey projects.

When using Minicap, if the limit is exceeded or the load falls below the limit, a switching signal is sounded. A switch housing or signal output device (e.g. lights, horns, PLC) can be connected to the Minicap. It has a switch for minimum/maximum failsafe selection.

Two electromagnetic, interference-immune electronic inserts are available with Minicap. Either, with relay output, AC or DC powered, or with PNP output and 3-wire DC power.
