Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
You can use either dilute phase or dense phase, depending upon cost. My preference would be dense phase.

Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
Jason,
Use dense phase transfer. Dilute phase will transfer this product, however, you will see a lot of wear on convey piping. If dilute phase is selected, you will need a rotary airlock to introduce solids into transfer air stream. This valve will be overcome by wear in a short period of time resulting in excessive blow by.

Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
dear Jason
You should use a DENSE PHASE pneumatic conveying system.
Some similar systems , manufactured by "CLYDE pneumatic conveying"are installed in "NESHER ISRAEL",Ramla cement plant.

We have developed a pneumatic powder conveyor device for a client Cementa AB, Sweden, commissioned at two cement powder depots in Sweden that, at best may, offer low consumption of compressed air, and easy mechanical installation of transport pipes. the products have been in continuous operation since circa mid '90's.
Technical information on the product is available as an AutoCad file (cannot be attached as an legible file at this forum). ■
Pneumatic Conveying Cement 15 T/H
Cement can be conveyed in eithr dilute or dense phase systems. There is however some other practical considerations:
1) Is the system batch or continuous?
2)At the intake point is there sufficient height for the blow tanks?
3)Is there an adequate supply of quality compressed air available?
A dense phase system is probably the best solution for your proposed scheme. The conveying characteristics of pneumatically conveying cement in a dense phase mode is well documented.
If you require any further information or a complete system design then please do not hesitate to contact me.

We at Macawber Engineering specialize in dense phase systems. We have done systems of similar character to what you describe. There is such a system operating for several years now in Hong Kong at a 100 tph rate.
We would be pleased to provide details on an appropriate system for you. Please review our website www.macawber.com and contact me either via that site or by e-mail directly at the address pspaulding@macawber.com. ■
Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
Mr Wang,
It seems that your project is a good candidate for Dense Phase system. Now, before this can be confirmed, a complete evaluation of the system: piping layout, equipment involved, plant location (elevation, weather cond., etc.), shall be required.
Even though Cement can be fluidized relativetly easy, due to the length of your system it may required additional nozzles that, when located at the right location, it will insured the product transfer.
Another issue is the type of hopper/tank/silo you will be using as well as the receiving one, codes etc. Is dust a problem? Several questions that once answered will insure the correct application.
We do all the pneumatic calculations in house and are compared against working systems that we have installed in the past.
We have worked with Schlumberger, BPAmoco, ExxonMobil, etc. providing consulting and engineering for Cement, Barite, Hematite, Bentinite, etc, transfered at Onshore and Offshore applications. ■
Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
Dear Mr. Wang,
I would recommend to use a combination of "Superaerated Flow" and High-Pressure Airlock "Autoseal". This new system was developed by Wormser-System Inc., Salem especially for reliable and energy-saving pneumatic transport of Cement. If you are interested in further informations please contact Alex Wormser under alexwormser@aol.com or send me a message: info@enviro-engineering.com

15tons/Hour Cement Transfer
Thanks for your recommendation.
The project is in a hurry to install. We already start to conduct this project and schedule to complete test run on Nov.17.
We are going to use the dense phase system, which is suggested by most of buddies.
The AUTOSEAL system looks very compact and we will keep in mind for next project. Would you please submit an installation list for our reference?
Best regards

Belt Cleaners
Have seen your post.
Do not have books but references.
We are manufacturer of a wonderful belt scraper called "Dirt Whacker". Our extension in ALL companies in Europe but as well as Africa makes our scraper n°1.
The "Dirt Whacker" is the only one giving 100% efficiency on CLIP belt and REVERSIBLE belts, that is why we won the silver jubilee of the best mining invention.
REVERSIBLES BELTS : thanks to the parallelograms, the scraper can reverse himself at the same time than the belt is reversing !! You do not have to stop the belt anymore nor make some scrapers modifications. Everything will be made instantly !!
CLIP BELTS : our blades are very special. Indeed, our tungsten carbide blades are brazed between 2 mild steel. When the clip hit the scraper blades, this clip will first hit the mild steel and the rubber pipe of the scraper will amortize/compensate the chock. We guarantee the efficiency of that worldwide patented system.
FOOT PUMP : the installation is so easy that you just need a foot pump to inflate the scraper ! We give you this foot pump for free. Just inflate the scraper between 400 – 600 grams. That is all you have to do. The blades will scrap the belt wonderfully !
QUICK BELTS : we guarantee our scrapers for belts whose speed reach 8 meters/second without any problems !
Our reference in chemica/mining/siderurgies and Power stations companies are various and the countries where we are homologated and fully standardized are for example : Tunisia (all chemical groups
and phosphates extractions + cement plants), Morocco (all chemical groups and phosphates extractions + power stations and cement plants), Algeria (siderurgy + phosphate extractions) + Senegal (chemical industries + extractions), Mauritania (iron), Gabon (manganese), Congo (diamonds + copper/cobalt), South-Africa (diamonds, platinum, coal,…) but as well as in all Europe with applications such as in Belgium where we were the only 1 to be able to supply for a size of belt 4000 mm.
Size of the scraper 4000 mm in 100% stainless steel. (Pictures on demand by email). France, Benelux, UK, Germany, even Hong-Kong and Thailand recently ,…
No maintenance anymore.
We hope to have positive news from you.

Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
Jason
you should select:
(a) fluidised dense-phase mode of transport (e.g. solids-to-gas loading up to 50:1, depending on pipe size, etc)
(b) twin (tandem) blow tank feeding system
(c) stepped-diameter pipeline to minimise transport velocity and minimise pressure drop (one step should be OK for this tonnage and distance)
(d) full-bore blow tank outlet valves (with quick exhausts for fast actuation) - careful to select proper valves, etc if high temps are involved
(e) pneumatic logic and controls (if installation is underground and there is risk of explosion)
(f) simple PLC logic and control (keep things as simple as possible)

Re: 15 Tons/Hour Cement Transfer
Mr Wang,
Have you considered using an enclosed belt conveyor for your installation instead of a pneumatic system?
The Sicon conveying system could possibly be a cost effective alternative.
You are most wecome to contact us directly for a budget offer or to browse our web site at www.sicon-roulunds.com for information.

Cement Conveying
if you would like my two cents I will tell you to use a capsule pipeline system. www.pnuetrans.net -out of Canada. the set up you describe is perfect for a small capsule pipeline system and there is no wear on the pipe as well from the cement as it is held in place by the capsule train car or cars. ■
